Moki Dugway / Muley Pointe
On your way to Muley Point is Moki Dugway. It is a graded dirt switchback road that is carved into the face of the cliff edge of Cedar Mesa. This road was originally built to accomodate the uranium ore trucks in the 1950s. The overlook at the top gives a breathtaking view of Valley of the Gods and the distant buttes of Monument Valley. Further up the road and to the left another 9 miles is Muley Point. At this point there is an aerial view of the Goosenecks that goes 2,200 ft. down when you see the river. Monument Valley is in the distance as well as Navajo Mountain, on the other side of Lake Powell. Mileage to Mokey Dugway from Mexican Hat is 12 miles and to Muley Point is 21 miles. ![]() The Moki Dugway Climbs this Butte 2000 feet UP |
